Turn Out

Rehabilitation Livery

For horses recovering from injury or requiring structured rehabilitation, we offer tailored care designed to support a successful return to health. Our facilities include controlled turnout, small recovery paddocks, and individual management plans to ensure safe progression through each stage of rehabilitation. We work closely with veterinarians, physiotherapists, and other equine professionals to implement the most effective recovery protocols. Additional therapies such as cold hosing, hand-walking, and stretching exercises can be incorporated as needed.

Youngstock Livery

Our youngstock livery provides a structured yet natural environment for foals, weanlings, and young horses as they grow and develop. We believe in a balanced approach that combines correct handling with the benefits of herd interaction. All youngsters are introduced to leading, regular foot trimming, and general handling to prepare them for their future careers. Where necessary, we utilize experienced older horses within the herd to help instill discipline and social skills. For more challenging cases requiring extensive handling, additional training services can be arranged.

Additional Services

In addition to long-term grass livery options, we also offer short-term holiday livery and seasonal grazing. We manage all aspects of equine care, from veterinary visits and farrier appointments to rug changes and worming, ensuring a professional and stress-free service for owners.

For mares in foal, we can provide specialized care, including foaling facilities with dedicated foaling boxes equipped with viewing cameras for around-the-clock monitoring.

Our goal is to provide a professional and well-structured grass livery service that prioritizes each horse’s welfare, whether they are enjoying retirement, recovering from injury, or growing into their next stage of life.

All-Year-Round Grass Livery in Cambridgeshire

Our all-year-round grass livery provides a well-managed, natural turnout environment for horses in need of long-term or seasonal care. Whether your horse is on holiday, in rehabilitation, retired, or a youngster requiring time to mature, we offer a comprehensive and professional service tailored to their individual needs.

Our carefully maintained 15-acre fields provide ample space for movement and social interaction within structured mixed herds, ensuring a balanced and stress-free turnout experience. Horses are typically grouped by age and temperament, promoting a stable herd dynamic while allowing for natural behaviors. Our experienced staff conduct thorough daily checks, ensuring each horse's well-being, and administer high-quality hard feed or hay as required. Worming follows a structured program, and routine foot care is provided to maintain soundness.

We take pride in maintaining our grazing to a high standard, preventing overgrazing and allowing for seasonal field rotation. During the winter months, premium hay is supplied as needed, typically from mid-December to April. Natural shelter is available in most paddocks, with wooded boundaries offering protection from the elements. For those requiring additional care, individual turnout arrangements can be discussed to meet specific needs.

Retirement Livery at Grass

Retirement at grass provides an ideal solution for horses no longer in work due to age or injury. We cater to both elderly horses and those retired early due to long-term soundness issues, ensuring they enjoy a peaceful, well-managed environment. Many horses with conditions such as arthritis benefit significantly from unrestricted movement, often reducing their reliance on pain management. Our approach allows them to live as naturally as possible, promoting both physical comfort and mental well-being.

Horses on retirement livery are rugged appropriately throughout the seasons, with our team handling all necessary changes. Should owners require additional care during the winter months, stabling options are available as needed. Our priority is to provide a high standard of care while offering owners peace of mind that their horse is comfortable, content, and well looked after.
